Greetings, adventurers of Heavenfall. Today we are proud to announce the most comprehensive balance patch in the server's history. This update touches every class, revises core combat mechanics, and introduces entirely new skill trees designed to diversify playstyles and elevate the competitive experience.
Maintenance Notice: The patch will be applied during a scheduled maintenance window on April 25th, 02:00–05:00 UTC. All servers will be offline during this time. Characters in dungeons will be safely teleported to the nearest town.
Overview of Changes
This patch is the culmination of 3 months of data analysis, community feedback, and internal testing. Our primary goals were to:
- Reduce dominance of single classes in PvP environments
- Increase viability of underutilised skill builds
- Introduce meaningful progression through new Mastery mechanics
- Improve overall server performance during large-scale siege events
Class Balance Changes
The following table summarises the key changes for each class. Full patch notes are available in the community Discord server and forums.
| Class | Change Type | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Shadow Knight | Nerf | Shadow Step cooldown increased from 8s to 12s. Dark Shield absorption reduced by 15%. |
| Arcane Sage | Buff | Arcane Burst base damage increased by 12%. Mana regeneration improved by 20%. |
| Blood Reaver | Buff | Bloodthirst life steal increased from 8% to 14%. New passive: Crimson Tide (stacks ATK on kill). |
| Storm Caller | Rework | Chain Lightning reworked. Now bounces to 5 targets (up from 3) but base damage reduced by 20%. |
| Grow-Lancer | Buff | Lance Charge distance increased by 25%. New skill: Celestial Thrust (AoE spear slam). |
| Mystic Mage | Rework | Illusion mechanics completely redesigned. Phantoms now deal 60% of caster's ATK instead of flat damage. |
New Mastery System
Alongside the balance changes, we are introducing the Mastery System — a new layer of character progression available to all players who have reached Level 180+. Each class gains access to a unique Mastery tree with 20 nodes offering powerful passive bonuses and unique playstyle modifications.
"The Mastery System is our answer to the long-standing request for more depth in late-game progression. We want level 200 characters to still have meaningful choices to make." — Lead Developer, Heavenfall Team
Mastery points are earned through gameplay — not purchasable in the Item Shop. 1 Mastery Point is earned per 500,000 experience points at level 200. This ensures the progression remains tied to in-game effort and dedication.
Siege Performance Improvements
Players participating in large-scale siege events have reported FPS drops and server-side lag when 150+ players converged on a single point. We have implemented the following optimisations:
- Skill effect rendering reduced below a distance threshold
- Server-side hit detection rewritten using a new spatial grid system
- Maximum concurrent siege participants increased to 400 (up from 250)
- New dedicated siege servers for X100 realm
What's Next?
Following this patch, our roadmap includes the release of a brand new raid dungeon — Ruins of the Hollow King — scheduled for May 2026, along with Season 2 of the PvP Championship and the long-awaited Phantom Weaver class reveal.
Thank you for your continued support and for being a part of the Heavenfall community. See you on the battlefield.

Finally the Arcane Sage buff! I've been waiting for this for months. The mana regen change alone makes the class so much more comfortable to play in long sieges.
Shadow Knight nerfs are deserved but 12s on Shadow Step feels too punishing. Should be 10s at most. Otherwise really solid patch overall, GMs clearly put in the work.
The Storm Caller rework is interesting. More bounce targets but lower base damage means it's better as an AoE harasser rather than burst damage. Fits my playstyle though — can't wait to test it on siege day.
